Don’t Put Yourself At Risk By Buying A Cheap Menstrual Cup

There are tons of menstrual cups on the market now-a-days, which is awesome! Problem is very few menstrual cups go through quality testing, inspections, or a lengthy process to become FDA cleared. You may not think this is important, but it is, and it should be something on your radar when searching for a new menstrual cup. If a menstrual cup is less than $20 and has not been FDA cleared, you could be putting your health (and pants) at risk.

Cheap menstrual cups may be attractive, but many of them have not been put through rigorous quality testing. For this reason, there’s a greater risk the cup may split at the seam. A properly tested cup would very very rarely have this issue.

Sckoon-Menstrua-lCupStill interested in a cheap menstrual cup? Make sure you fully research the cup before buying and find out what the manufacturing process and materials are. Remember, menstrual cups should only be made using medical grade silicone or another material that is approved for medical use.

Often times cheap menstrual cups have not been FDA cleared (or cleared/approved by any facility/organization that protects our health). This is important because these organizations ensure the quality and composition of a medical device is up to par and safe for our bodies. By not going through this process, there’s no telling if there will be adverse reactions when using the product. In addition, it is illegal to sell menstrual cups in the US without registering with the FDA.

Don’t risk your health by purchasing a cheap menstrual cup. Part of the price consumers pay is for safety, and you don’t want to risk that when it comes to a medical device.

SckoonCup Is FDA Cleared!
FDA clearance means that we went though a long process of testing, inspections, and approval of material, chemical composition, manufacturing process, storage and packaging process.

In order to become FDA cleared, we first submit a form called 510(k) which is;

A  510(k ) is a premarket submission made to FDA to demonstrate that the device to be marketed is at least as safe and effective, that is, substantially equivalent, to a legally marketed device.

Once the application and form has been approved, we must next go through an intense round of testing. To ensure the product safety, our SckoonCup went through numerous biocompatibility testing including toxicity testing, sensitization testing, and bacterial mutation study.

We also go through FDA inspections every year which focus on quality control, manufacturing process, storage, and tracking system for product safety.

Sounds intense, right? It is. Clearing the FDA is a long process for safety assurance and we’re proud to say SckoonCup is FDA cleared!
